There is a meeting in the mayor´s office in the city hall.

“We need more space”, says the mayor. “Lots of people are moving to town, and we need more flats and houses, parks, schools, playgrounds – all those things that make a city great.”

“I agree,” says the city architect ,“we could plan a completely new city in the areas right outside the existing city.”

“I like white buildings”, the mayor points out.

“Why not ask the children-architects to help us,” says the architect. “They live in the city, they know it well, and they are the ones who`ll be living in our city in the future.”

The major is happy: “Yes, let´s ask the children to come up with a proposal, and to build a model of a white city.”

The group of children-architects like the idea. They start to plan and to build.

For that they need materials such as sheets of white A4 paper, glue and scissors.

When the model is finished and presented in the city hall, everybody applauds and says:

“Look at that city model – it shows exactly the kind of city we would all like to live in.”

Den Hvide By

Der er møde på borgmesterens kontor på rådhuset.

”Vores by har brug for mere plads,” siger borgmesteren, ”der kommer masser af tilflyttere, og vi mangler lejligheder og huse, parker, skoler, legepladser – alt det, der hører til en god by.”

”Enig”, siger stadsarkitekten, ” vi kan planlægge og bygge en ny by på arealerne lige uden for den

eksisterende by.”

”Jeg kan godt li´ hvide bygninger,” siger borgmesteren.

”Hvorfor ikke spørge børnearkitekterne, om de kan hjælpe os,” siger arkitekten. ”De bor i byen, de kender den godt, og det er dem, der skal bo i byen i fremtiden.”

Borgmesteren er fornøjet: ”Ja, lad os bede børnene komme med et modelforslag til en hvid by.”

Børnearkitekterne synes godt om ideen. De begynder at planlægge og bygge.

Til det skal de bruge materialer som hvidt A4 papir, lim og sakse.

Da børnenes model bliver præsenteret på rådhuset, klapper alle i hænderne og siger: ”Se bare den modelby – den viser præcis den slags by, som vi alle ønsker at bo i”.

La Ciudad Blanca

Hay una reunión en el despacho del alcalde en el ayuntamiento.

“Necesitamos más espacio”, dice el alcalde. “Mucha gente se está mudando a la ciudad, y necesitamos más pisos y casas, parques, escuelas, patios de recreo, todo lo que hace que una ciudad sea una gran ciudad”.

“Estoy de acuerdo”, dice el arquitecto de la ciudad, “podríamos planear una ciudad completamente nueva en las áreas justo fuera de la ciudad existente”.

“Me gustan los edificios blancos”, señala el alcalde.

“¿Por qué no pedir a los niños-arquitectos que nos ayuden”, dice el arquitecto. “Ellos viven en la ciudad, la conocen bien, y son quienes habitarán la ciudad en el futuro”.

El alcalde está contento: “Sí, pidamos a los niños que hagan una propuesta y que construyan una  maqueta de La Ciudad Blanca”.

Al grupo de niños-arquitectos les gusta la idea. Empiezan a planificar y a construir.

Para esto, necesitan materiales como hojas de papel A4 blanco, pegamento y tijeras.

Cuando la maqueta está terminada y la presentan en el ayuntamiento, todo el mundo aplaude y dice:

“Mira esta maqueta de la ciudad – muestra exactamente el tipo de ciudad en la que a todos nos gustaría vivir”.

Hiri Zuria

Bilera bat dago alkatearen bulegoan, udaletxean.

“Espazio gehiago behar dugu”, esan du alkateak. “Jende asko ari da hirira bizitzera etortzen, eta pisu eta etxe, parke, ikastetxe eta jolas parke gehiago behar ditugu, hiri bat hiri handi bat izatea egiten duen guztia”.

“Ados”, esan du hiriko arkitektoak, “gaur egungo hiritik kanpoko eremuetan hiri guztiz berri bat planeatu dezakegu”.

“Eraikin zuriak gustatzen zaizkit”, esan du alkateak.

“Zergatik ez diegu eskatzen haur-arkitektoei laguntzeko?”, esan du arkitektoak. “Hirian bizi dira, ondo ezagutzen dute eta etorkizunean haiek biziko dira hirian”.

Alkatea gustura dago: “Bai, eska diezaiegun haurrei proposamen bat egiteko eta Hiri Zuriaren maketa bat eraikitzeko”.

Haur-arkitektoen taldeari gustatu zaio ideia. Plangintza egiten eta eraikitzen hasi dira.

Horretarako, materiala behar dute, hala nola: A4 paper zuria, itsasgarria eta guraizeak.

Maketa amaitutakoan eta Udalari aurkeztutakoan, denek txalotu dute, eta hau esan dute:

“Begira hiriaren maketa hau; denoi bizitzea gustatuko litzaigukeen hiri mota irudikatzen du argi eta garbi”.
